Mikhail Leonidovich Khazin (born 1962), a Russian economist, publicist and president of the consulting firm, Neocon, is noted as the author of the book: “Sunset of the Dollar Empire and the End of the Pax Americana”, published in 2003.

Mr. Khazin was elected president of Neocon, a consulting firm, in 2002.
Mikhail Khazin is renowned for his theory of the latest economic crises, the reasons of which he explained long before this crisis unraveled. He also specializes in the problems of global economic calamities and natural monopolies. He is the author of a number of books and scientific papers on global economic crisis, state regulation of economy and political subjects. He anchors programs on radios Echo Moskvy and Russian News Service, and on RBK TV channel. He is a founder and writer of worldcrisis.ru

Mr. Khazin graduated from the faculty of mechanics and mathematics in Moscow State University. For some time, he worked for the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Khazin, who studied mathematics at the Yaroslavl University and Moscow State University, worked at the Soviet Academy of Sciences (1984–1991) and the State Working Center of Economic Reforms (1993–1994). Between 1995 and 1997 Khazin led the Credit Policy Department at the Russian government’s Economics Ministry and between 1997 and 1998 he was deputy head of Russia’s Presidential Economics Department.
